History and Mission
« Le son continu », created in February 2014, is a group of instrument makers, musicians, dancers and lovers of traditional music, supported by more than 100 volunteers. Together, they invest their time and energy to organise a grand annual gathering of influential figures from the world of traditional music.
This festival takes place mid-July in the Berry region of central France, in the grounds of the Château d’Ars near the town of La Châtre (Dept 36 – Indre)
More than a just a friendly festival, LSC aims to improve awareness of traditional music amongst the wider French public, and to encourage younger generations to explore the wide and varied repertoire that was developed before them by the children of Saint-Chartier.
